The genuine beachfront stock isn’t in Lekki Phase 1 — it's out past Eleko, where the coast opens up. La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort is the anchor at around $200 to $260 a night, with a private stretch of sand, palm-thatch bar and horse rides at sunset. Amen Estate area has smaller boutique stays under $130. Drive time from Lekki roundabout runs 60 to 90 minutes depending on Sangotedo traffic, so treat it as a weekend, not a base.

Landmark Beach access from Victoria Island

Landmark Beach itself sits at the tip of VI, not Lekki, but hotels within a five-minute drive — Eko Hotel, Radisson Blu Anchorage, Southern Sun — get you to the beach-club scene for around $180 to $320 a night. This is the closest thing to a Lagos city-beach base, with DJs, shisha lounges and beach volleyball daily until sunset. Bring cash for the $8 gate fee even if you’re staying nearby.

The honest verdict on 'beachfront'

Half the Lekki hotels claiming beachfront are a 20-minute drive from actual sand. If salt air matters, book Ibeju-Lekki and accept the trade-off in commute. If you want beach clubs, nightlife and a proper bed within walking distance of both, book Victoria Island and treat Lekki as a day-trip zone. Don’t try to split the difference on Admiralty Way — you’ll get neither.
