Phase 1 is where the site's beach-club-and-lagoon promise actually lives. Admiralty Way is the spine — Landmark Beach at one end, Freedom Way and Circle Mall halfway down, and a chain of rooftop bars in between. By 9pm on a Friday, Cubana and Hard Rock Cafe car parks are jammed with G-Wagons, bouncers are working a $15 door, and the noise from Landmark's Shiro rooftop carries three blocks. This is not the area for a quiet weekend. If you want to sleep before 2am, skip Admiralty Way and look at the residential streets off Fola Osibo or Kusenla Road. Solo travellers and couples doing the beach-club circuit will love being able to walk home; families and anyone booking for a conference at Eko Hotel should just cross the bridge to Victoria Island instead. Avoid anything advertised as 'Lekki Phase 1' that turns out to be past the second toll gate; that's a 40-minute drive when traffic hits. Getting around & the essentials
On foot
Start at the Lekki Phase 1 toll gate, walk east down Admiralty Way past Cubana and Hard Rock, cut left at the Domino's roundabout onto Water Corporation Drive, past the residential compounds to the Landmark gate, then through to the beach itself. About 40 minutes with stops for cold drinks. Do it before 9am or after 5pm — midday sun on the open stretch past the roundabout has no shade at all.
Transport
From Murtala Muhammed Airport, a metered Bolt or Uber runs $20-35 and takes 60-90 minutes off-peak, easily two hours in rush hour. There's no train serving Lekki. Inside Phase 1, walking works on Admiralty Way and the immediate side streets; for anything past Ikate use Bolt (rides are $2-5). Keke napep tricycles are banned from the Expressway but run inside residential blocks for about $1. Crossing to Victoria Island via the Lekki-Ikoyi bridge costs $1 in toll and takes 10-15 minutes outside peak hours, which is usually faster than the Expressway route through Oniru.
