Valentine's weekend reality
February 13th-15th is the second-biggest hotel weekend in Lekki after Detty December, and most locals underestimate it. Boutique places in Phase 1 like Bature Brewery-adjacent stays, Vellagio and Ilashe getaway rentals sell out by early February. Rates jump from ₦95,000 to ₦140,000 for standard rooms. Restaurants with any view — RSVP, Cactus, Talindo — require deposits weeks ahead. Sky Restaurant in Eko Hotel books out by January. If you didn’t reserve by February 5th, expect leftovers.
Outside those three nights, February is one of the most underrated months. Harmattan haze lifts around the 10th, revealing clear blue skies for the first time since November. Temperatures sit at 24-33°C with low humidity. It's the last comfortable month before March turns oppressive.

Every restaurant, beach club and gallery runs full hours. Landmark Beach hosts Valentine's-themed events with cover charges of ₦15,000-25,000. La Campagne Tropicana runs couples packages around ₦180,000 per night including meals. Lakowe Lakes does golf-and-spa weekends that sell out. If you want quiet, book February 20th-28th: rates fall back to ₦80,000-100,000, weather stays clear, and the city relaxes.
Schools remain in session, so beaches feel calmer on weekdays. This is the best window for Lekki Conservation Centre — the canopy walkway sees maybe 40 visitors a day rather than the 300 it gets in December. Book Ilashe or Tarkwa Bay day boats without weeks of lead time.
