Why bother
Ikate Elegushi sits between Lekki Phase 1 and the Atlantic, and it's where the serviced apartments are cheapest per square metre. A two-bed with a kitchen runs $110 to $160 a night versus $180 in Phase 1 for the same footprint. It's less polished — potholes, sand roads in patches — but the shortcut to Elegushi Beach is the main reason people book here.
Elegushi Beach and everything else
Elegushi Beach is the accessible city beach: $8 entry, DJs from 3pm on weekends, horse rides, jet skis, and grilled fish stalls for $10. The vibe is more Lagos-authentic than Landmark — louder, cheaper, less curated. Bolton White Apartments in Ikate is the reliable stay at $150. Nightlife: Craft Bar and So Fresh are within walking distance. Circle Mall for cinema and food court is a 10-minute drive.
Questions, answered
Is Ikate safe?
Yes inside estates. The main road (Fola Osibo) is busy and fine day and night. Take Ubers on side streets after 10pm.
How's the traffic to VI?
20 minutes off-peak, 60 minutes at rush hour. Cross the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge, not Falomo, from here.
Doing good is the business: every booking through Stay Lekki funds one verified tonne of carbon removal — same room, same price, no markup.
