Where the accessibility is real
Eko Hotel Signature Wing, Lagos Continental, and Radisson Blu Anchorage are the three properties with dedicated accessible rooms — roll-in showers, grab rails, wider doorways, and lifts that reach every floor. Staff at these hotels are trained on the basics of assisting a wheelchair-user, and ramps at main entrances are built to spec. Book the accessible category explicitly rather than requesting it later; there are only two or three per property.
The Wheatbaker and Southern Sun Ikoyi have ground-floor rooms that work reasonably well for reduced mobility even if they aren’t formally accessible — level thresholds, walk-in showers, and no lift required. Bon Hotel Elphi has one modified room on the ground floor. Ask for photos of the specific room before booking; property websites use the accessible label loosely.
The wider Lekki reality
Beyond the international chains and the top-tier boutiques, wheelchair accessibility in Lekki is patchy. Kerbs are high, pavements are narrow or missing, and many restaurants require climbing three or four steps. Even where a hotel is accessible, getting from the hotel to a restaurant or beach club often isn’t. Landmark Beach has a boardwalk section but the sand is deep. Lekki Conservation Centre's canopy walk is not wheelchair-accessible; the lower boardwalk trails are.
If you use a wheelchair, factor in a hired driver rather than taxis — Uber and Bolt drivers vary on whether they’ll help with transfers and wheelchair storage. A trusted driver arranged through your hotel is worth ₦25,000-₦35,000 a day.
