The five Lekki-VI-Ikoyi hotels that actually have a working EV charger — because the Lagos EV scene is small but growing fast.
The short honest list
EV adoption in Lagos is nascent but real — you’ll see a growing number of BYDs, Teslas, and Hyundai Konas in Lekki Phase 1 and Ikoyi. Charging infrastructure remains thin. As of early 2026, Eko Hotel, Lagos Continental, The Wheatbaker, Radisson Blu Anchorage, and Landmark all offer at least one Type 2 AC charger in their car parks — mostly 7kW or 11kW installations. Rates are usually bundled into the room rate for guests, ₦2,000-₦5,000 per session for non-guests.
Independent charging networks are appearing along the Lekki-Epe expressway. Possible EV and a handful of petrol stations retrofitted by JET Motors run public chargers around Chevron and Ajah. None are DC fast chargers yet — expect 4-8 hours for a full charge on most cars. If you’re bringing a Tesla, you need the CCS adapter; Nigeria has no Superchargers.
The practical reality
Because power supply is inconsistent, most hotel EV chargers run through the same generator as the building. This means charging speed drops or pauses during grid outages when the generator prioritises lifts and AC. Ask specifically whether the charger is on the essential-loads circuit or the secondary one. At Eko and Lagos Continental it's primary; elsewhere it can drop to trickle rates.
If you’re driving a rental EV in Lagos, plan your charging around your hotel and don’t rely on public infrastructure for a schedule. For longer trips (Epe, Badagry, Ibadan), a petrol hybrid or ICE rental remains far more practical in 2026. This will change over the next three to five years.

Yes, at 2.3kW — enough for 100-150km of range in 8 hours. Ask the hotel to confirm the socket is on the generator circuit or you’ll wake up to no charge added.
Not yet publicly. A few private installations exist at corporate offices. The first public 50kW+ chargers are expected along the Lekki-Epe axis in 2026-2027.
