Lekki Hotels with the Best Lagoon and Water Views
Hotel balcony overlooking Lagos lagoon at dusk
Seven properties where the room actually looks over water — because most Lekki hotels sell a lagoon view they don’t have.
The genuine water-view hotels
Radisson Blu Anchorage sits directly on Five Cowries Creek and the upper-floor lagoon-facing rooms have the most cinematic view in Lagos — Third Mainland Bridge lights across the water at night, cormorants on the pilings at dawn. Book the corner suites on floors 8-14. Eko Hotel's Signature Wing has lagoon-view rooms on the higher floors, though you’re looking across the swimming pool complex first. Lagos Continental has similar upper-floor views over Kuramo Waters.
Lakowe Lakes, further out on the Lekki-Epe expressway, has cottages that back directly onto the lakes — the closest thing to genuine waterfront in the Lekki hotel scene. Landmark Beach's hotel wing overlooks the Atlantic, which is different from a lagoon view but arguably better. For Ikoyi-side, Southern Sun and the Federal Palace both have partial water views from higher floors.
The fake-view hotels
A lot of Lekki hotels claim a lagoon view when what you actually get is a distant glimpse across three car parks and a construction site. Some Ikate serviced apartments advertise water views based on a sliver visible from the fire escape. Look at the property on Google Maps satellite before booking — if the hotel doesn’t sit on a waterline, the view is a marketing choice, not a room feature.
Price premiums for confirmed lagoon-view rooms run 20-40% over interior rooms at the international chains. If the difference is under 15%, the view probably isn’t as advertised. Always ask for a specific room number and check it against a floor plan; hotels sometimes reassign at check-in.
Before you book
What people ask before booking Ikate.
The north-facing rooms look over the creek and Third Mainland Bridge. South-facing rooms look at the city and are cheaper but less atmospheric.
Landmark's hotel wing overlooks the Atlantic, and a few Eleko villa properties sit on the beach. Most of what's marketed as ocean view in Lekki is actually lagoon or creek.
