Five floors, 8,000+ artworks, free entry — West Africa's largest private gallery is 15 minutes from any Lekki hotel and worth every second.

What you’re looking at

Nike Okundaye's gallery on Elegushi Road, Lekki Phase 1, holds an obsessive collection of Nigerian and West African art — paintings, sculpture, textiles, beadwork — spread over five floors. Entry is free, and if you go on a weekday morning Nike herself often walks visitors through personally, telling stories about the artists. Budget 90 minutes minimum. The batik and adire textile floor is the highlight most people underrate.

Buying and practicalities

You can buy everything — prices range from $30 for small prints to $8,000 for major canvases. Bargaining is expected but polite; expect maybe 15% off marked. Cards work but the network is unreliable, so bring cash for anything under $100. Shipping to the US and UK is arranged in-house and reliable, $80 to $200 depending on size. No photo restrictions, but ask before shooting staff or Nike herself.
