Home to Landmark Beach and some of the peninsula's newest towers, with rooms from ₦60,000 to ₦250,000.

Ikate in one paragraph

Ikate sits between Phase 1 and Chevron, hugging the lagoon side of the Lekki-Epe Expressway. It went from swamp to skyline in about a decade, and now holds Landmark Village, Twin Waters, and a growing cluster of glass-fronted apartment blocks aimed at expats and returning diaspora. The vibe is newer and cleaner than Phase 1 but less established — you’ll see cranes and half-finished towers on most streets.

It suits travellers whose main plan is Landmark Beach, weekend brunchers, and anyone who wants a modern serviced apartment with a working lift and predictable water pressure. It does not suit heritage-hunters or people wanting neighbourhood texture; Ikate has almost no street food scene compared to Phase 1.

Costs and walkability

Serviced studios in the newer towers around Kusenla and Yusuf Abiodun run ₦80,000-140,000. Landmark's own hotel and the nearby boutique properties push ₦180,000-260,000. Older guesthouses on the interior streets can be had for ₦55,000-75,000 but check for a working generator.

Landmark Beach, Hard Rock Cafe and Shiro are walkable from most Ikate hotels — five to fifteen minutes. Circle Mall in Phase 1 is a 20-minute walk or ₦2,000 Bolt. The expressway crossing is genuinely dangerous on foot; use the pedestrian bridge near Elegushi junction.

Before you book

What people ask before booking Ikate.

Is Ikate the best base for the beach?

For Landmark specifically, yes — you can walk to it. For Elegushi, Oniru would be closer.

How noisy is Ikate at night?

Landmark events run loud on Fridays and Saturdays. Book on the far side of your building from the coast if you sleep early.
