What Ikoyi offers
Ikoyi sits between Lagos Island and Victoria Island, and it has been the address of Lagos's establishment for a century. Tree-lined streets, colonial-era houses, embassies, private schools, and increasingly, luxury apartment towers. It is calmer than VI, greener than Lekki, and home to some of the city's best restaurants (Ile-Iyan, Nok, Yellow Chilli's flagship) and the Ikoyi Club with its golf course.
It suits older travellers, families, business visitors with meetings in Ikoyi itself, and anyone who prizes atmosphere over convenience. It does not suit party-seekers (Ikoyi is genuinely quiet at night) or budget travellers (the rate floor is high).
Prices and access to Lekki
Boutique hotels run ₦120,000-220,000, mid-range properties ₦180,000-320,000, and the top serviced apartments and Wheatbaker-tier hotels reach ₦350,000-550,000. Roughly the same as Victoria Island and 50-80% above Lekki Phase 1.
Walkable: dozens of good restaurants, Ikoyi Club, Falomo shopping centre, several art galleries. The Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge connects Ikoyi directly to Phase 1 in 10-20 minutes by car — this makes Ikoyi a genuine alternative base for a Lekki trip, especially for older travellers who prefer its calm.
