Jakande roundabout and market stalls along the Lekki-Epe Expressway
Best known for its market, Jakande has cheap rooms from ₦25,000 but few reasons to actually sleep there.
What Jakande is known for
Jakande is a junction more than a neighbourhood. The Jakande roundabout is where the expressway meets a large informal market famous for cheap electronics, phone repairs and second-hand clothes. There are a few small hotels and guesthouses within a few hundred metres of the roundabout, and a Novare Lekki mall pulls decent foot traffic.
It suits traders, budget travellers with a specific errand at the market, and anyone with early meetings at nearby estates. It does not suit tourists at all — the noise around the roundabout is relentless from 6am, air quality is poor from expressway traffic, and there is nothing pleasant to walk to after dark.
Prices and access
Rooms here start at ₦20,000-30,000 for basic guesthouses, ₦40,000-60,000 for anything with reliable power and hot water. You will not find boutique properties here — the demand isn’t there. That said, it's one of the cheapest points on the entire peninsula to sleep.
Walkable: the market, Novare Lekki mall (which has a Shoprite, Genesis Cinemas and a food court), a couple of Chinese and shawarma spots. Everything else is a Bolt: Circle Mall is 10-15 minutes, Landmark 15-20, Victoria Island 30-90 depending on traffic.

What people ask before booking Jakande.
The market area is busy and generally safe by day; keep phones out of sight. After 10pm, take Bolts and avoid the roundabout on foot.
Almost no reason unless the price is unbeatable or you’re specifically shopping the market. Sleep in Phase 1 or Osapa and visit by day.
