Lekki Peninsula: which stretch to book

The peninsula runs 50km from Victoria Island to Epe, and where you sleep on it changes your trip completely.
The peninsula is not one place
People use "Lekki Peninsula" to mean everything east of the Falomo Bridge, which is like calling a 50km stretch of London "east London." The western end (Phase 1, Ikate, Oniru) is dense, walkable-ish, and expensive. The middle (Chevron, Agungi, Osapa, Ikota) is residential expat suburbia. The eastern end (Sangotedo, Awoyaya, Ibeju-Lekki, Eleko) is beach-town frontier with the Dangote refinery and the free trade zone reshaping it monthly.
Pick your stretch based on why you’re here. Beach and nightlife: west end. Business meetings in Victoria Island: as far west as your budget allows. Refinery or Lekki Free Zone work: middle to east. A quiet beach weekend: Eleko or Lakowe.
What a night costs across the peninsula
West-end rooms (Phase 1, Oniru, Ikate) run ₦80,000-250,000. Middle stretch (Chevron, Agungi, Osapa, Ikota) is ₦45,000-120,000 for far more space per naira. East end drops further to ₦25,000-70,000 for guesthouses, then spikes to ₦150,000-400,000 for beach resorts like La Campagne Tropicana or the Lakowe Lakes villas.
Traffic is the single biggest cost you don’t see on a booking page. Sangotedo to Victoria Island in Monday rush hour is two to three hours. If your day is on the island, sleep west. If your day is on the beach, sleep east.
