Lekki Arts and Crafts Market
On Admiralty Way in Phase 1, open daily 9am to 7pm. This is the tourist market: beads, carvings, batik, leather bags, paintings. Prices start at three times what you’ll pay. Bargain to 40 to 50 percent of the opening quote. A decent Ankara shirt should be $15, a small carved mask $10, a beaded necklace $6. Skip the aggressive touts near the entrance and walk to the middle stalls.
Sabo Market and food markets
Sabo Market off Kudirat Abiola Way is where locals buy produce, meat and spices. Not really for souvenirs but a great visual experience. Best visited with a local guide or Bolt driver willing to wait. Bring $15 in small notes and pick up spices, dried peppers and palm oil to take home. Ebeano Supermarket in Ikate is the modern option, foreign staples, good bread, $30 for a decent basket.
Terra Kulture and gallery shops
For higher-end crafts and books, Terra Kulture on Tiamiyu Savage in Victoria Island (15 minutes from Phase 1) is fixed-price and worth the crossing. Nike Art Gallery also has a shop with authenticated pieces from $50 to thousands. Alara concept store on Akin Osiyemi is designer African fashion at Milan prices.
