Getting across
The Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge toll is about $0.50 each way. Bolt from Phase 1 to Ikoyi runs $4 to $7 depending on where in Ikoyi. Off-peak the crossing is five minutes; at rush hour it's 40. Aim to leave Lekki by 10am and return before 4pm or after 8pm.
What to do
Start at Rele Gallery on Military Street, contemporary Nigerian art, free entry. Walk over to Freedom Park on Broad Street for lunch and live music at weekends, entry about $2. Ikoyi Club has one of the older 18-hole golf courses in West Africa if you have a guest connection. Dodan Barracks area is worth a slow drive-by for the old military architecture.
Eating and drinking
Ikoyi is where the Lagos food scene concentrates. Lunch at Sao Cafe on Kingsway ($20 a head), dinner at Yellow Chilli on Oyinkan Abayomi ($25), cocktails at The George rooftop ($10 each). For a splurge, Nok by Alara does a pan-African tasting menu around $70. Book everywhere on weekends.
