Getting around Lekki: traffic, the BRT, and whether you need a car

You do not need to rent a car in Lekki, and driving yourself is a bad idea if you do not know the expressway. Bolt and Uber both work reliably across Phase 1, Ikate, Chevron, Osapa, Jakande and Ajah, with typical fares of ₦2,500–₦6,000 within the peninsula and ₦4,000–₦9,000 to Victoria Island or Ikoyi. Four nights is the right length for a first visit built around Lekki itself, five if you want a beach day at Eleko or Ilashe. Base yourself in Phase 1 or Oniru. Day one, keep it local: Lekki Conservation Centre canopy walk in the morning, Lekki Arts and Crafts Market in the afternoon, dinner on Admiralty Way. Day two, cross to Ikoyi and Victoria Island for Nike Art Gallery, Freedom Park and Jazzhole.
