What to expect at Oniru Private Beach
Oniru Private Beach shares the same coastline as Landmark but has its own gate, its own scene, and is a touch cheaper and less curated. It draws a mix of Victoria Island professionals, Ikoyi expats and Lekki Phase 1 residents — Friday sunset is when it peaks, with sand-side DJs, shisha lounges and pop-up cocktail bars. Individual operators run their own beach clubs within the compound (Bature Brewery has an outpost, and several private cabana clusters take reservations), so the experience varies by which section you pick.
Strategy: enter through the main Ligali Ayorinde gate rather than the beach-house side gate, which sometimes charges more. Head to Bature Brewery's beach outlet if you want craft beer and a shaded deck, or to the eastern cabana row if you want a full lounger setup. Friday 5-9pm is prime. Reserve a cabana in advance for weekends; walk-in works midweek. Cards accepted at most bars, but keep small bills for tips and vendors.
