No, Lekki is not walkable in the way European or North American cities are — distances are long, pavements are patchy and the heat and humidity make anything over 15 minutes uncomfortable most of the year. The exceptions are pockets: within Lekki Phase 1 you can walk Admiralty Way between restaurants, Oniru around Landmark Beach and Twin Waters works on foot, and Circle Mall in Jakande is fine once you are there. For anything else, use Bolt. Do not try to walk along the Lekki-Epe Expressway service lanes.

Lekki is one of the safer parts of Lagos at night, particularly Phase 1, Oniru, Ikate and the gated estates in Chevron and Osapa London, which have private security and 24-hour LEPMU patrols. Take normal city precautions: use Bolt or Uber rather than street-hailing, avoid the Lekki-Epe Expressway service lanes on foot after dark, and keep your phone out of sight in traffic. The stretch of expressway between Ajah and Sangotedo is quieter and worth being more careful in after 10pm. Bars and restaurants on Admiralty Way are busy until 2–3am on weekends and comfortable to move between.

Lekki Phase 1 is the best area for a first visit, followed by Oniru if you want the beach and Landmark within walking distance. Phase 1 sits right after the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge, so you are 10 minutes from Ikoyi and 15 from Victoria Island outside rush hour. Admiralty Way has the densest cluster of restaurants, bars and 24-hour pharmacies on the peninsula. Expect to pay ₦90,000–₦250,000 a night for a decent mid-range room here.

June and July are the cheapest months, with hotels along the peninsula discounting 15–25% because of the long rainy season and expressway flooding. February is the best value in the dry season — the December surge is over, Harmattan has cleared, and rates are back to baseline. Avoid the week of 20 December to 5 January entirely unless you have booked by October, as Detty December pushes Phase 1 and Oniru rates up 40–70%. Late September and early November are also quiet and cheap.
